Day 15 – Pastor Chris

{this was our Sunday service. I strongly encourage you to watch the full 40-something minute message by clicking here.}

The moment you put God at the center of your life, you will have great joy!

Romans 13:11-14 (MSG) – “But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!”

When you pray, thank and hand off.

  • It’s time to take control of my schedule.

Ecclesiastes 4:6 – “Better one handful with tranquillity than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.

Jeremiah 6:16 – “This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”

“The key is not to prioritize your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” -Stephen Curry

  • It’s time to rethink and regulate what I allow to enter my mind and body.

1 Corinthians 10:23 – ““I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.”

Psalm 141:4 – “Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.”

  • Certain that God will work it out

1 Peter 1:8 – “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy…”

  • It’s time to organize my finances around give, save, live.

God never has access to all of you until He has access to all that you have.

Matthew 6:21 – “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Proverbs 3:9 (MSG) – “Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best.”

  • It’s time to live my life intentionally.

Proverbs 20:4 – “Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.”

Psalm 90:12 – “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Find 5 things to do every day.

You are not the product of circumstances. You are the product of your disciplines.

I must know my purpose.

If you don’t know your way, you will never know your why.

Psalm 139:16 – “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I must have a plan.

Proverbs 17:24 – “A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.”

I must have accountability.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Faith is taking a step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Day 16 – Pastor Chris

Focus: authority

1 Timothy 2:1-2 – “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

You have someone over you whether you like them or not.

Matthew 8:5-10 – “ When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”

You’ll never be in authority until you submit to the authority that is already in your life. That doesn’t mean you have to do everything they say.

  1. Family authority
  2. Work authority
  3. Governmental authority
  4. Spiritual authority

Day 17 – Layne Schranz

Focus: mission

Missions was the last thing Jesus talked about before He went back to Heaven.

Acts 1:6-8 – “Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””

It’s not on Him, it’s on us!

The world is big, but so is the Holy Spirit.

Day 18 – Hamp Green

Focus: our church

There are a lot of ways God is represented, but the only one He mentions is the church.

The devil wants to bring division to the church. To derail it. He hates the church.

Matthew 16:13-18 – “When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

Jesus is all about building the church.

Pray for vision + protection.

God entrusts us to lead people to Christ.

Day 19 – Mark Pettus

Focus: our kids

Psalm 127:3 – “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”

Kids are a gift to humanity.

The devil hates our kids because they are holy.

Pray that they are: protected, redeemed, anointed and HIS!

We can trust God with our kids.

Day 20 – Pastor Chris

Focus: the lost (those who don’t know God)

John 4:35 – “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”

Ask the Father to draw them to Jesus

John 6:44 – ““No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

Bind the spirit that blinds their mind

2 Corinthians 4:4 – “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Pray that they have a personal relationship with God

Romans 8:15 – “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.””

Pray for believers to cross their paths (& have a positive influence)

Matthew 9:38 – “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Release the spirit of wisdom and revelation on them, so they may know God better.

Ephesians 1:17 – “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”

This is our purpose! To pray for the lost.
