SATURDAY - 1.9.16
Psalm 100:1-5 ~ “On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn’t make him. We’re his people, his well-tended sheep. Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever. God gives us an invitation (to enter) to be in the presence of Jesus.”
When I worship God, my problems have a different perspective.
Start every conversation + prayer with God by saying how amazing he is. WORSHIP HIM!
MONDAY - 1.10.16
Luke 19:7 ~ “When Jesus got to the tree, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry down. Today is my day to be a guest in your home.” Zacchaeus scrambled out of the tree, hardly believing his good luck, delighted to take Jesus home with him. Everyone who saw the incident was indignant and grumped, “What business does he have getting cozy with this crook?””
Ask God to renew me in a way that he’ll use me to reach lost people.
Luke 19:10 (NIV) ~ “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Focus prayer on:: the lost
- pray that Jesus will draw them
- Bin the spirit that blinds them
- Loose the spirit of adoption
- pray that believers will cross their path so they can get into a good relationship
- loose the spirit of wisdom so they can know God better
TUESDAY - 1.11.16
“Victory doesn’t happen by accident!” – War Room (movie)
Have you ever known someone who could do something for you, but you wondered if they would? sometimes it’s that way with God. We know he CAN do something about our situation, but we wonder if he WILL.
Daniel 3:1-18 ~ “King Nebuchadnezzar built a gold statue, ninety feet high and nine feet thick. He set it up on the Dura plain in the province of Babylon. He then ordered all the important leaders in the province, everybody who was anybody, to the dedication ceremony of the statue. They all came for the dedication, all the important people, and took their places before the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had erected.
A herald then proclaimed in a loud voice: “Attention, everyone! Every race, color, and creed, listen! When you hear the band strike up—all the trumpets and trombones, the tubas and baritones, the drums and cymbals—fall to your knees and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Anyone who does not kneel and worship shall be thrown immediately into a roaring furnace.”
The band started to play, a huge band equipped with all the musical instruments of Babylon, and everyone—every race, color, and creed—fell to their knees and worshiped the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Just then, some Babylonian fortunetellers stepped up and accused the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Long live the king! You gave strict orders, O king, that when the big band started playing, everyone had to fall to their knees and worship the gold statue, and whoever did not go to their knees and worship it had to be pitched into a roaring furnace. Well, there are some Jews here—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—whom you have placed in high positions in the province of Babylon. These men are ignoring you, O king. They don’t respect your gods and they won’t worship the gold statue you set up.”
Furious, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be brought in. When the men were brought in, Nebuchadnezzar asked, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t respect my gods and refuse to worship the gold statue that I have set up? I’m giving you a second chance—but from now on, when the big band strikes up you must go to your knees and worship the statue I have made. If you don’t worship it, you will be pitched into a roaring furnace, no questions asked. Who is the god who can rescue you from my power?”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your threat means nothing to us. If you throw us in the fire, the God we serve can rescue us from your roaring furnace and anything else you might cook up, O king. But even if he doesn’t, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn’t serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.””
Three attitudes that should be active in my prayer life::
- Pray with an unwavering assurance
- Pray with an unbiased confidence (vs. 18 (NIV) – “But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.””)
- Pray with an unshakable stand
WEDNESDAY - 1.13.16
Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have.
Psalm 51:10-11 (NIV) ~ “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.”
Praying for a Pure Heart::
- Honesty // every relationship is rooted in honesty, and God wants a relationship.
- “Lord, I need you!” // I can have all the right words but sometimes i just need to say this.
- Express my need for Jesus everyday
Matthew 5:8 ~ “You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.” // (NIV) ~ “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
When my heart is pure, God will reveal himself.
Ask God for a pure heart!
THURSDAY - 1.14.16
Do I have a problem with focus?
Perspecitve is everything! & prayer changes my perspective.
Genesis 15:1-5 ~ “After all these things, this word of God came to Abram in a vision: “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I’m your shield. Your reward will be grand!” Abram said, “God, Master, what use are your gifts as long as I’m childless and Eliezer of Damascus is going to inherit everything?” Abram continued, “See, you’ve given me no children, and now a mere house servant is going to get it all.” Then God’s Message came: “Don’t worry, he won’t be your heir; a son from your body will be your heir.” Then he took him outside and said, “Look at the sky. Count the stars. Can you do it? Count your descendants! You’re going to have a big family, Abram!””
Pray the Lord’s Prayer to refocus my perspective on him.
Hebrews 10:23 (NIV) ~ “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
FRIDAY - 1.15.16
21 Days of Prayer & Fasting opens my eyes & my heart.
2 Kings 6:16-17 (NIV) ~ ““Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are morethan those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lordopened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
There is more power in Heaven fighting FOR me then all of Hell fighting AGAINST me.
