We’ve officially completed a year of thankful thursdays!
Like I said at the beginning of the year, this really stemmed from Thanksgiving 2017 and my desire to keep the attitude of thankfulness all year round instead of just one day a year. Particularly on the challenging weeks, it was good for me to sit down and think about what I was thankful for.
This series made me more aware and created an intentionality in me to always look for something to be thankful for.
Alrighty, let’s get into our last “Thankful Thursday” post.
Thankful Thursday #52

A Highlands Christmas
Our church – WOW! That’s all I can say. What an incredible week of Christmas serves across the state of Alabama + online around the world.
There were 97,048 attenders at our campuses and 101,455 attended online. That doesn’t include the 6,001 babies + toddlers we had.
Now, here’s the exciting number… ready!?
1009 SALVATIONS / RECOMMITMENTS TO CHRISTย
Whoop whoop paaarrrrttttaayyyy! ๐
I am so thankful to even be apart of that.

A 4-day Weekend
Any kind of break from the office is a nice one, and that 4-day weekend was awesome! I tried to not say “I don’t want to go back to work,” but I think it showed on my face ๐

Farm Life + New Experiences
I never had any ambitions to be apart of farm life. It wasn’t appealing to me in any way, shape or form. But since Aaron told me he was invested in it, I’ve really been trying to find my place in it all.ย I’m still sorting that out (blog post to come I’m sure), but I’m excited for what’s to come.
All that to say, I absolutely loved the new experience I had with my husband and my in-law’s new farm dog. It’ll be a lasting memory and I’m looking forward to creating many more ๐

Jesus’ Birthday
Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, which makes sense since I’m a big birthday person ๐
I am so thankful that we were able to celebrate Christ’s birth. That He came, that there is a holiday to celebrate it (even if it’s not on the actual day He was born and culture has made it super commercial) and that we have the freedom to do so.

Technology
Technology, when used properly with healthy boundaries, is a blessing. Because of it, I was able to connect with some of my family members over the weekend to wish them a Merry Christmas.

Again, thank you for following this journey with me. I hope that it encouraged you to intentionally find things (big or small) to be thankful for!
