Our wedding day was not the best day of our lives.
But Aaron and I also agreed early on that we didn’t want it to be.
I’m glad for all those who get their dream wedding or have wonderful memories surrounding this once in a lifetime event, but that isn’t our story. Despite all the compromises we made, we were blessed by many and the day truly wouldn’t have looked so beautiful without them and we are thankful.
However, we made it very clear to each other that we were far more interested in investing in our marriage than our wedding day. We understood the years following were more important.
Regardless, I wanted to share our wedding day highlight video + some photos with you (with a couple fun facts about the day).
So for the first time on the blog, I hope you enjoy these pictures. And if you’re in an engagement season, remember – it’s just a day.

We took mental pictures throughout the day by holding up our fingers in the shape of a camera and snapping – just like Jim & Pam did in their wedding episode on The Office.
We walked into our Pixar themed reception to “Here Comes the Boom” by POD
Each table was a Pixar movie. Every year Pixar releases a new movie the week of our anniversary so our anniversary date is dinner and going to see the newest Pixar movie.
Aaron remembers the cake was delicious. I don’t remember what it tasted like at all… I just remember the cake topper was broken 😛
Our first dance song was to “I Thought I Loved You Then” by Brad Paisley
