weekend recap #5

Let me start off my saying, it was a very full, but relaxing weekend. It was a great combination of doing things but also doing nothing. My kind of combo πŸ˜‰

FRIDAY night started off with the Church of the Highland‘s Dream Team party. Everyone who serves on Sunday mornings is invited to this party that each campus holds to celebrate their teams.

Aaron & I walked up and right before the door was a poster with a photo of our temporary building for the campus we go to & plenty of room to sign around it. The idea was that we signed out names. Loved this idea!

Because we’re a temporary campus (we meet at a high school), we had the Dream Team party at another venue. It was gorgeous. When we walked in, it was packed of Dream Teamers getting their seats for a fun filled night.

We started walking towards the direction of the food and there was a giant poster we could take our picture in front of. The guy standing in front of it had this shirt on, & Β I told Aaron I needed that shirt – for obvious reasons πŸ˜‰

Anyway, here’s our photo in front of the poster.

We immediately got in line after that for food. It was a mix of chips, dip, jambalaya & bread. It was SO YUMMY!!!

Oh, & you can’t forget dessert πŸ˜›

Once a majority of the crowd has eaten, they kicked it all off with worship.

During that time, my mother-in-law decided to stand on a chair to get a good picture of everyone. I thought it was funny, so I documented it πŸ˜›

With food in our stomachs and munching on tastey desserts, the team at the main campus put on a musical performance + a comedy show. It was full of good belly-laughs which was phenomenal! πŸ™‚

They ended the night by giving everyone a gift, a tee shirt.

I’m honored that I could be apart of the Dream Team party this year & that Aaron got to come too. Our church is amazing! Enough said.

SATURDAY was a chill day. I had no meetings or shoots scheduled & Aaron didn’t work until the evening, so we spent most of day chilling and watching Netflix. πŸ˜€

We did briefly get out of the house to make a quick grocery store run, and I also got a new polaroid camera <3

SUNDAY was my first day serving on the Students team.

I just shadowed another team member but we basically just wandered around the campus and said hi to students. It was pretty straightforward.

Service was a special one because we were celebrating Highland’s 15th Birthday. We did our usual worship, they played some special videos they had put together, and then the message was about the history Β of the church & what their heart was and is. You can watch it HERE if you’re interested.

After church, we got ready for the Superbowl party we were going to. We made an awesome cheese, cracker + meat tray to share.

We had fun watching the game with this great group of people. It’s always great to see them!

Overall, it was a great weekend! Now, I’m welcoming in Monday with a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m rested and ready! πŸ™‚
