social media identity

Saturday night, I decided I was going to “take a break” from social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook mainly). Sunday, I had to choose to have self control and not scroll through Twitter just because I was board.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with social media! It’s a great tool to keep in touch with friends and show your own creativity with others, but it can become troublesome when you no longer care about sharing YOU with others and start to compare your lifestyle + creativity & make adjustments to your style to be similar to someone else’s.

I noticed I was falling into this trap so I decided I was going to pull back and focus on me. Focus on MY CREATIVITY. Build myself & my art / talent up. All the time I spend on social media throughout the day can be better used by me picking up my camera and taking artistic photographs for fun. I can journal more – blog more. I can spend more time in God’s word, growing my spirit & love for Him – and consequently, learn more about myself as well. There are so many benefits to just “taking a break,” to slowing down and realizing you need to find your “social media identity” again.

Now, don’t be surprised if you find me posting some stuff here and there, I promise I’m not scrolling – just uploading! πŸ˜‰

What is something that makes you happy? Do you have multiple things? I have a little list of things that always seem to put a smile on my face & heart.

This week, I’ve decided I’m going to do more of what makes me happy. I’m going to make time for it. Even though I have a busy schedule, making time for myself is important

What is something that makes you happy that you need to make more time for?

Have a fantastic week! πŸ™‚
