September, man. it gets me every year.
It’s packed with multiple family members’ birthdays, anniversaries and other events all in the midst of our daily lives.
Let’s dive into what happened throughout the month of September…
Paisley had a run in with the pillar dividing our dining and living room.
We didn’t make it to the zoo as much as I desired this month, but this trip where we got up close with this awesome turtle was pretty cool.
As we near Rylie’s birthday (November), I’m continually shook at how big she’s getting.
I was thankful for our weekly library trips. We’ve gotten a good flow and the librarians love our visits.
I tapped into my wanna-be-plant-lady side and repotted my pothos plant. It was an experience and I still want to weed through the 20+ minutes of footage I have doing it.
We built forts and I loved watching the girls’ creativity unfold.
We celebrated Aaron’s 28th birthday, which was fun.
We launched our parenting small group through our church and it’s been great. we love pouring into families and equipping them to pursue Biblical parenting.
I also FaceTimed with my younger brother (who lives in Seattle) a couple times to go through some of my old boxes. It was fun to walk down memory lane together and just to catch up.
A brief 24-hour bug hit our household (one by one of course), starting with Paisley.
Rylie got her martial arts photos back from her shoot last month, and they turned out AWESOME!!!!
Rylie also wrapped up her K-Primier book she started the beginning of summer and we started her Kindergarten Language Arts and Literature book. Still loving this curriculum.
Then our busiest week of the month came up – so we kicked it off with a shopping trip to get everything we needed.
That week we had a Holistic Home Co. party, which was breakfast + Pjs themed.
Then my mom came into town and we enjoyed thrifting, hanging outside (the weather was gorgeous!!!), doing school with Nana and getting ready for Paisley’s birthday party.
Then we had Paisley’s actual birthday which was a fun “you pick day.”
From there we soaked up the last couple days with my mom in town.
Aaron and I got to go on a lunch date after church which was awesome. We got to talk about some really crucial things for our family in this season and create some practical next steps.
We ended that day with a sunset walk which also resulted in a wipe-out by Emmaline 🙁
The following morning Paisley, Spencer and I went to the pediatrician for their 2year and 4month check up. It also provided a great opprotunity to stop by Dunkin’ and get some coffee and donuts 😉
Spencer turned out to be 17lbs 8oz (90th percentile in weight which basically means he’s on the very high end of “average”) and Paisley is in the 90th percentile in height.
We said bye to Nana and I spent the rest of September catching up on work and getting back into our normal rhythms.
But this morning (9.30.21) I woke up to the gorgeous sunrise and I simply had to take a picture of it.
