I was so excited to go to the women’s conference this year. between the at-home version last year and skipping 2019’s because I was literally having a baby (hey Paisley), I was looking forward to being there in person.
Our venue was the cutest and the decor was dreamy.
The session was so powerful too. Charolette Gambil spoke and she encouraged us that we all have a part to play in this world. God isn’t looking for visibility (how popular you are), He’s looking for availability.
Pulling from Exodus 2, she highlighted four roles and we all fit into at least one of them:
- the carriers (the dreamers) – they’re the ones who, like pregnant women, are willing to carry something. to empty themselves, deprive themselves of things in order to carry & grow dreams, miracles, ministry ideas, etc. God is looking for people who are not possessive but will carry something to eventually birth it and give it away.
- the coaches (the encouragers) – they’re the ones that show up when the thing inside of you needs to get out. Some miracles, dreams, etc. weren’t born because the coaches didn’t show up.
- the connector – you connect the vision and the action together. you take someone’s dream and connect them with the person who can make it happen.
- the commissioner (influence) – you have authority, friends in high places, and/or influence.
this sentence though was the one that got me –
“we spend a lot of time talking about things that don’t matter. and you don’t have a lot of time left.”
the rest of the evening was spent with good food and a couple photos with some friends.
here’s something Charolette posted on Instagram that I happened to catch before going to sleep.
The next morning was another great session. Quotes like –
we need heaven strategy!
and
kindness opens doors!
were two that really stood out to me.
we wrapped up the conference with brunch (delicious!!!) a final session, worship and some practical next steps. Oh, and more photos with friends 😉
I left the conference feeling so thankful for the slight break I got to refuel myself and the sweet conversations I had with my people.
hey friend, it’s Sarah. I want to personally invite you into this life. this life of authenticity, confidence, grace, laughter, joy, hardship, peace. we all need someone. we all need people. community. so, if you’d like to, take my hand and we’ll walk this journey called “life” together.
