we have merch – the journey of how it started

When we first announced we were adopting, my second action (after posting it on socials) was researching all the ways we could fundraise money. I read dozens of blog posts and they all had one same suggestion – t-shirts.

I rolled my eyes every time. I even mentioned it to Aaron and said, “we’re not doing that!”

“why?” he asked

“because nobody needs another shirt.”

FAMOUS LAST WORDS!

A week or so later, I came around and did some research and decided it could be cool… I started messing around with a company all the blogs recommended, and then lightly shared the idea on Instagram (like a “hey… so I’m thinking of creating merch…”). One of my closest friend’s messaged me and recommended another company a friend of hers worked for – Fund The Nations. I looked into them, stalked their Instagram and sent an email to her contact a few minutes later.

A full month’s worth of emails discussing style, design, product(s), cost & ordering instructions led to this beautiful fundraiser that has our community buzzing with excitement and Aaron & I awestruck and laughing that I was originally so against it.

So if you need products made for an adoption or mission trip or any other non-profits. They seriously are incredible people! They heard my vision, helped me design the logo, gave me all the options and pricing AND heard my request to have it all delivered to me before my birthday and they made it happen!
