Adoption has a cost.
More than a financial cost. A cost of time, peace, emotions, resources.
“I didn’t know how much this process would cost me!” was something I said with exhaustion & brokenness a couple months ago. I know this journey will be well worth it when we’re holding that promise, but there are times when it’s okay to admit that it is hard. It is not all smiles and excitement. It is also time, resources, heartache, hearing words spoken to you that are hurtful, exhaustion, stress and more. But I was reminded how much the cost was for Jesus to be with me. To adopt me. It cost him his relationships, his dignity, his life. It cost him everything, and he still paid it. He paid it so he could be with me!
So I will pay this cost, and I will lean into the arms of the One who understands and also paid a cost.
If you are in a season where you are paying for something you weren’t expecting – know that you can run to Jesus. He is so willing to listen and carry it for you.
