My first sourdough based recipe on the blog because they are amazing and my most sold out item in every single market I did this summer.
I’ve had countless people tell me they’re the best cookie they’ve ever tasted and I’ve even had special orders 🙂
Ingredients
- 2 sticks of unsalted butter, slightly softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and sugars
- Add the egg to the mixture, stirring until incorporated.
- Stir in the sourdough starter and vanilla extract.
- Add the flour, salt, and baking soda, careful to not overmix.
- Mix in the chocolate chips
- Put the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes (you can also refrigerate overnight if you’d like)
- When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F
- Bring out the bowl from the fridge and use an ice cream scoop to place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 11-12 minutes
- Let cool slightly (so you don’t burn yourself 😉 ) and ENJOY!!!!!
