sourdough chocolate chip cookie recipe

My first sourdough based recipe on the blog because they are amazing and my most sold out item in every single market I did this summer.

I’ve had countless people tell me they’re the best cookie they’ve ever tasted and I’ve even had special orders 🙂

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter, slightly softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and sugars
  • Add the egg to the mixture, stirring until incorporated.
  • Stir in the sourdough starter and vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour, salt, and baking soda, careful to not overmix.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips
  • Put the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes (you can also refrigerate overnight if you’d like)
  • When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F
  • Bring out the bowl from the fridge and use an ice cream scoop to place the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 11-12 minutes
  • Let cool slightly (so you don’t burn yourself 😉 ) and ENJOY!!!!!
