In the Fall of 2021, I decided that smiley faces brought me a lot of joy. Like it was my “thing” that people would see and think of me. Most people thought it was a phase (I kinda did too).
Then in January 2022 when I was researching more things about adoption, I remembered that November was National Adoption Awareness Month. Most pictures I saw on Instagram under this tag had people with smileys on their hand. I googled why and Google told me that smiley faces were the national symbol for adoption.
How amazing that God was putting smiley faces on my radar before adoption was even a part of our story.
As November ends, I wanted to make sure I became one of those people who had a smiley on their hand. Because I’ve been passionate about sharing the joys and the hard of our adoption journey. Because adoption needs to be talked about more. Because even if people are not called to adopt, they can still help support those who are.
