Looking back on this last weekend (3.3-6) I’m truly so thankful to have been celebrated so big and so long. It was full of surprises!
For starters, on Thursday (3.2.23) my brother surprised me by flying in from Seattle, Washington. I had absolutely no idea but apparently he, my mom and my husband had been in on it for months. I mean, pure shock!!!!
Friday (3.3.23) Aaron and I got out for a date to my favorite restaurant and then a hockey game.
Saturday (3.4.23) was my actual birthday and got up and our early to meet my mom at my favorite coffee shop.
My brother joined us an hour later and we had an impromptu photo session with the 29 smiley face balloon bouquet.
It was hilarious walking around downtown carrying this ginormous bunch, but I was so happy I didn’t even care!
After the session, we drove home and I was greeted by four very excited littles who had spread the balloons all over the main living area. Aaron had a full breakfast spread on the table and after opening the sweetest homemade birthday cards, we dug in.
After we had cleaned up we spent some time outside, had quiet time and then I helped Aaron make our favorite dessert – chocolate pie. The kids were eager to help too. Afterwards we went over to my in-laws and hung out with the tribe. Played games, snuggled babies, ran around, ate yummy takeout, etc.
After a few hours we headed home and Aaron, the kids, my mom & brother all sang “happy birthday” to me. We ended the evening playing a couple of my favorite card games and then getting ready for the next day…
Sunday (3.5.23) we started early because we needed to finish packing and load up for our Atlanta trip. We were leaving straight from church so we had to have everything ready.
After church, we headed out. 3 hours later, we were at our hotel. The kids had been non-stop talking about this trip since we told them earlier that week and now that we were there it was a non-stop beg fest to go to the pool. We got our stuff up to the room changed into our swim stuff and walked down.
After we were done swimming we cleaned up and the kiddos chilled with Aaron and my mom while Dan and I went to get takeout for dinner. I had been craving Asian food for a week so it was extra yummy!
The next morning we snagged our breakfast at the hotel and then the kids went back to the pool with Aaron for a bit and I hung out in the room with Spencer. He wasn’t feeling well and needed some extra snuggles.
We packed up and loaded up because the next stop was the Atlanta Aquarium. We spent the remainder of the day there and, per usual, it was a great time!
Exhausted, we headed home. When we arrived (after 8pm), we unloaded the car, bathed the kids and they immediately fell asleep. Aaron and I were not far behind them!
It was such a packed weekend but with such good things.
