*Forest School or Nature School is best described as learning that happens while playing outside.
This Spring Semester, we’ve learned about Seeds, Butterflies, Wildflowers, and Honeybees. This week we experienced mushrooms + moss. And when I say “experienced,” I mean it.
Immediately after our lesson, we went on a nature walk/hike through the forest to search for moss and mushrooms. We found both in different forms and it was a great opportunity to see it in the wild but also to talk about the beauty of going on Nature Walks.

When we got back from our hike, we went straight into our activities. We painted mushrooms, colored beautifully designed coloring pages and ate a yummy mushroom themed snack – strawberries and cheese sticks.
We also had a gorgeous, ginormous stack of themed books for our reading blanket.
I cannot believe there is only ONE week left of our Spring Semester. I always notice how full my heart feels during our time together because I just love every bit of Nature Day.
