Alabama doesn’t have the gradual transition into Fall as other states do. Ours can be abrupt and I can find myself impatient while I wait for it to feel like Autumn. But I’ve decided to take a different path this year – a path of intentionality regardless of the weather report. One that focuses inward. I want our home to shift smoothly into the next season.
I can’t make the trees change or the weather cool quicker, but I can give the people I love a grand start to Autumn. I can help usher in a season worth making note of.
I set aside to think about how I want this next season to look and feel.
Let’s start by making a list of the first things I think of when I think “Fall” (sights, smells, activities, colors, clothes, tastes) and how I want to incorporate them into my life.
My list is:
+bonfires
+soups
+fall diffuser blends
+reading outside
+softball games
+gatherings
+opening the windows
+low music
+my favorite wardrobe
The goal is the list helps our minds transition from one season to the next so the shift doesn’t seem so jolting. Rather a sense of calm, sensibility and peace for me and my family.
Spending some time on Pinterest gave me a fresh vision for the season as well. Create a board and start pinning. It’s magical and so fun to see all your vibes in one place. You can check out my full board here —
So whatcha think… what will your Fall look like?
Take some time and dream about it.
Then go out and make it happen!
