To kick of week #2 with our baby girl, I finally had some time to take her newborn photos. I was so excited because it’s been a dream of mine for months to take her pictures, and I finally got to ๐
THURSDAY (11.17.16), my friend Leiza came over to meet Rylie & take a few pictures of the two of us together. This one is my absolute favorite <3
My dad also flew into town, so on FRIDAY (11.18.16), Aaron & I took my folks on a little road trip to show them the highest point in Alabama (2,411 feet)ย –ย Cheaha Mountain.
We finished the night off with dinner, where Rylie decided it wasn’t okay for us to eat and her not to, so she screamed at the top of her lungs until I quickly went into the women’s bathroom to feed her. I posted on Facebook –
I think new moms are given tests. Today, mine was how to handle my newborn baby scream in a restaurant so uncontrollably that I had to leave my warm plate of food & my visiting parents + husband to go feed the newborn baby… I really hope I passed that test!
Thankfully, those who commented said I passed, so that was encouraging ๐
SUNDAY (11.20.16) brought another church service, and we decided we’re going to try to make it a tradition to take a family picture every Sunday so we can see how much Rylie grows – we’ll see if we can stick with it ๐
Since both my parents were in town, we also made sure we got a picture with both sets of grandparents.
Later that afternoon, we watched the Seahawks game. Cutest fans ever ๐
Early MONDAY morning (11.21.16), my mom flew back to Washington.
thankful to have a mom who is willing to take 11 days off work to come help this new mama out. Rylie loved having her nana visit!
Later that day, Rylie had her 2 week old doctors appointment. She got back to her birth weight, which was awesome. They said she’s very healthy and is eating just the right amount ๐

Week 2 brought it’s own set of laughter and learning opportunities, but I definitely felt like I had a better grip on mommy-hood and learning Rylie’s way of communicating.
