The last couple summers (June 1st – beginning of August), I’ve “challenged” myself to take a polaroid photo every day. Sometimes it doesn’t happen (& that’s okay), but by the end of summer, most of our days have been captured through film.
I wanted to invite you to join me if it’s something you’d find joy in doing.

If you don’t already, you’ll need to get yourself a polaroid camera. I got mine at Walmart but there are lots of options on Amazon. It is not necessary to purchase a fancy bundle, just the camera will do.
Next, film. Throughout the year, I use regular, plain white film but for summertime, I love the pop of color film.
Finally, you’ll want to find a cool place to display your photographs. I like to place them on our wall, but afterwards I’ll stick them in a polaroid photo album. It’s really cute, old school and fun to look back on.
It’s the simplicity and timelessness of a polaroid that brings me the most joy. It can be challenging at times, especially when we’re so used to our phones, but it’s also really beautiful and exciting process to be forced to wait with anticipation as you see how your photo turned out.
I hope you’ll join me this summer. And if you ever share your polaroids on instagram, make sure you tag me so I can see π
