Happy Thursday to you all! It feels like it’s been a slow week to me, so I’m kind of surprised it’s already over half way over. In any case, here’s what’s been going on for the past week for the Shaver Crew –

Have you ever wondered what you’d look like as Peanuts character? I have. I heard on the radio the other day that you can create your own Peanuts character, and immediately I was all over it. Click HERE to create your own!
Here’s what mine looks like –
Last Thursday I turned in my 2 week notice at Starbucks. If you missed the full story, I highly recommend reading the post I wrote explaining what brought me to that decision. It’s a good read, I promise! π
On Saturday night (well, more like Sunday morning since it was 1:30am), we took my father-in-law to the Greyhound bus stop so he could catch a bus to Texas. Why you may ask!? Because his mom is moving here. Literally. She’ll be staying in the house along with her 2 dogs and their 6 puppies. Anybody want one? π
Although I was exhausted, I got up the next morning with just enough time to enjoy a relaxing, Starbucks blueberry muffin breakfast and watch our church service online.
Monday, Aaron surprised me and took me out to dinner at a restaurant we’ve never been to before – Jim ‘n Nicks.
I’ve been on a secret quest to find a southern restaurant that is so good I insist to anyone who visits that they have to go there. And I think I found the place. Their food was delicious and I was so full afterwards. It was a perfect date night! π
Tuesday morning we packed up some books and movies we didn’t want anymore and went to 2nd and Charles to sell them. The process takes a while though so we roamed the store… well, I roamed the store, Aaron was glued to the comic section. π He seems to underestimate how much of a geek he truly is! π
Yesterday (Wednesday), was one of my 1st grader’s birthdays.Β When he saw me & Ms. Kaitlyn (my co-counselor), he ran up & gave us 2 cupcakes he had clearly been saving just for us. I love my 1st graders!
I think I always underestimate how much my 1st graders really love us counselors. I figure they’re more “in love” with their teacher who they see all day every day. But I’m starting to see the kids in my group do certain things just for me, and it’s so sweet and heart melting. I’m so glad that I am making a difference in their life! π

So there’s our week. How has yours been? Did you get to do or try anything new?
