As we were preparing for our adoption yard sale, the girls chimed in and said they wanted to sell something too. We settled on lemonade for Rylie, cookies for Paisley and flowers for Emmaline (they came up with these ideas themselves btw). The flowers from Emmaline made so much sense honestly. She’s the one that regularly is handing me flowers (weeds) and is drawn to the bouquets at the store.
My awesome sister-in-law helped get this together for them and we prepared and made all their goodies for them to offer to our customers.
However, as we could have predicted, the girls showed no interest in their products once the sale actually came. They were way more interested in the never ending toys they had available to them haha
The adults helping the yard sale ate most of the cookies and we used the lemonade for many events following the sale. But the flowers… those were a “need to sell now” kinda deal.
I brought them home and contemplated what I was going to do with all these flowers… then I had an idea.
The next morning I took a photo of all the bouquets together and posted on our adoption Facebook group –
My 4yr old made little flower arrangements to sell at our adoption yard sale & we still have several left. She’d be thrilled to find them all a home $5 with the vase.
I offered two different times and locations I would be in the next 24-hours and what types of payments I accepted. I also shared it on a couple mom groups I’m in and ladies commented taking me up on my offer.
Many asked for one, a couple asked for multiples and two ladies blew me away and sent me payment but told me to bless someone else.
It was really sweet and honestly made me very happy. It brought a lot of smiles and pride to Emmaline’s spirit as well which was fun to watch.
Not gonna lie, I’ve been considering doing something like this again… but I haven’t decided how or when or if it would even be successful. Playing around with some ideas but for now, this is a super sweet memory!
