encouragement valentines

Happy Valentine’s Day

Or

Happy Singles Awareness Day!

Depending on which side of the fence you’re on 😉

On February 1st, I visited a blog I frequent and she shared this DIY that was so easy and encouraging that I had to add it to my daily calendar.

Starting February 1st through Valentine’s Day, give your child a heart with a note on it stating one reason why you love them. This is easy and so sweet!

Because our house is on the market and we constantly have people coming to view it (plus I had already packed my construction paper), I decided to say the words to my kiddos vs. writing them down. It was such a powerful way to speak life and love over our children. 💕

As I was preparing messages for my kids, I decided to add my husband in on the encouragement as well and I could text him in the morning so he’d have an encouraging text to read.

But why not take it one step further!? I listed a handful of friends and a few family members that I would send an encouraging text to as well. Most of them do not have “Words” as a love language, but I decided to do it anyway and some expressed their thankfulness and how much my words had encouraged them.

I am excited about next year when we’ll be more settled so I can actually write these words down. I enjoyed doing it this year and I’m looking forward to growing this DIY into a tradition.
