father’s day 2018

First, let me say I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day! I hope you enjoyed celebrating your earthly father &/or saying an extra “thank you” to your heavenly Father.

Our morning started with Aaron off to church to serve in the Clubhouse (preschool age kids) and I took my time getting ready for the day. Once the girls were up, it was breakfast and getting them ready for church.

After we said “good morning” to Daddy, I dropped the girls off in their classrooms then met Aaron in the hall and we headed into service.

As is custom at Highlands on a holiday like this one, they Creative Team made a short video to celebrate the dads. It had the whole auditorium laughing, so I hope you watch it πŸ˜€

The message was incredibleΒ and I highly encourage you to listen to it if you can! Rich Wilkerson Jr brought such an encouraging and “wow!” message.

When service was over, Aaron helped me pick the girls up. I couldn’t help but snag a picture of my favorite man with his girls.

Shaver girls are all smiles over their daddy today & everyday πŸ˜„ they love him so much! πŸ’• He is an incredible dad to them & I am honored to have him as a teammate πŸ’₯

As a Father’s Day gift, I took my father-in-law out to ice cream at Dairy Queen. We had some good conversation but we mainly just talked about Rylie πŸ˜›

Then we went over to my in-law’s house where I cared for the girls while dinner got started. I also FaceTimed by brother and got to say “Happy Father’s Day” to my dad.

Before we knew it, it was time for dinner – Greek chicken, green beans, salad and corn.Β  We also watched Now You See Me 2. Emmaline was either eating or napping while Rylie was a bundle of energy per usual and was hopping from couch to couch sitting next to me, Aaron, or my in-law’s.

When Aaron and I got home, I showed him the piece of paper that Rylie scribbled on with crayons and the photo of the two of them I had taped on top. I had gotten him a gift, but he accidentally opened it when it came earlier in the week. When I came home from work and saw it opened on the table, I said, “I see you got your Father’s Day gift!?” he replied, “OH MY GOSH – I am so sorry! I love it though!” πŸ˜›

Before bed, I sent him the link to the letter I wrote him on the blog so he could read it. He deeply thanked me for what I had written and I told him it was the least I could do.

Overall, it was a great day and such a joy to honor the father’s in our lives.
