I have loved having a white pumpkin as a centerpiece on our table, but just like Rylie loved picking her pumpkin at the patch, I wanted Rylie to enjoy decorating her pumpkin too. Since carving it didn’t seem age-appropriate for our 1 year old, we decided painting was our best option. I bought a pack of washable paint (😉) and prepped Rylie with a garbage bag (I cut holes for her head and arms) and our table for any paint that did not make it onto the pumpkin. 😝
It didn’t take long for Rylie to get the idea of dipping the brush into the paint and then stroking the pumpkin. We only let her dip once (because she scooped it lol) and then closed the lid to avoid a spill. When she was done, she pointed to the next color she wanted and we’d clean her brush then let her use the next color.
And like any good first-time painting story, it did end up in her hair 😛
She had a blast and I loved watching her!
