one of my favorite things about September (aside from the anticipation of Fall) is Aaron’s birthday.
The day before his birthday, the kids and I went and got some giant number balloons.
That afternoon we decorated the living room with streamers (my parents were so good at decorating with streamers and I’ve decided I need to get some tips because my streamer job doesn’t look remotely as good as theirs hahaha).
He got the day off work and we enjoyed a slow morning with the kids, a grocery store trip (based on Aaron’s desire for chocolate chip cookies but we were out of chocolate chips), watching his current show during quiet time, making the cookies with the kids before sending them to his parents so we could get in a little date-night.
His work was having a team night but knowing it was his birthday specifically got him a gift and sang him a song. He bowled a couple times before we headed out to get our Jim’n’Nicks to go. We picked up Spencer (the girls stayed the night at Mimi & Papa’s house) and ate our wings while watching our current show.
He said he had a great day and looking back, it was very “Aaron style” – chill and full of family.
