This was our first 4th at the property, so we decided to host a party. We invited friends, bought some food and decorated to enjoy the festivities.
The girls were so excited for the party and were more than happy to get dressed in their patriotic clothes.
Emmaline had a sleepover with Amberlyn & Ryan (my sister-in-law + her husband) and she was dressed in an adorable red and blue outfit with tassel hair ties.
The day was a mix of relaxing and getting ready for our gathering that evening.
Amberlyn helped arrange the food trays and, of course, made them look adorable!
I’m just glad my watermelon stars turned out good. You never can tell if the idea you got from Pinterest will work or not haha
It didn’t take long for our friends to arrive and we enjoyed great conversation, yummy food and an outstanding firework show put on by Aaron & Ryan.
I was very intentional to get a family photo before the fireworks though because I knew once it got dark, our chances were gone.

Happy 4th from the Shaver Crew
By the time the party was over, it was almost 10pm. We grabbed the food that had to be refrigerated and went home to get bathed. The girls didn’t get to bed until 10:55pm and Aaron and I didn’t say goodnight until almost midnight.
Looking back, it was a good day and we’re looking forward to partying again next year!
