life lately – may 2022

May turned out to be a packed full month of daily life, huge adoption strides and some pre-summer fun and adventures!

For starters, Rylie got a 2-night Papa date as they went to Georgia to pick-up some work supplies for my father-in-law’s business.

Meanwhile, I pulled off a late night Emmaline date (she’s our night owl) and we build a pretty great magnet tower.

Emmaline also put together Mother’s Day bundles for our yard sale that weekend.

I gave making sourdough bagels a try and Aaron agreed they were incredible and should be offered to others to purchase as an adoption fundraiser (never thought I’d do a bake sale style fundraiser, but here we are ;P )

We spent most of the first week of May preparing for our second adoption yard sale.

The days started to get hotter and fluid intake became more frequent!

We had our adoption yard sale fundraiser on May 6th & 7th at our friend’s house. Both our husbands were at work both days so we handled it on our own with 7 kids total and we made $1,329.

immediately following was Mother’s Day which was simple but fun.

After multiple batches of sourdough bagels, I tried my hand at making bread and uh, yeah – that got added to the menu! It’s soooooo good!

We took HUGE strides in our adoption journey. We were able to sign with our adoption consulting firm, select our home study agent and pay for our profile book designer.

Rylie & Emmaline started a new gymnastics class – they’re together and it’s an hour long.

We prepped for Spencer’s party & celebrated him BIG with a photoshoot and gathering and officially turning ONE!

We welcomed a piano into our home.

The library is starting their summer schedule to accommodate kiddos that are out of school so our quiet story time and craft is being revamped for the next couple months.

We had a picnic dinner at the lake with my mom (who visited for two weeks).

Emmaline & Spencer had their annual appointments and we spotted an “I love you” sign.

We took some walks and found a turtle.

We spent more focus on our homeschool bookwork (& doing it outside is always a bonus).

And we wrapped up the month with an afternoon at a friend’s pool.

A packed month full of such great events.
