monday workday

Even though yesterday was MLK day, Aaron had to work at Starbucks so I did some photography work. I wasn’t in the mood to sit at home though (ohh the life of a business owner), so I packed up my laptop and went to the same Starbucks my husband works at for a much needed change of scenery.

Since Starbucks’ drinks are clearly not Daniel Fast Β approved, I grabbed a water (which is free πŸ˜€ yay!) & packed my own breakfast – the same breakfast I’ve had every morning for the last 17 days – peanut butter on rice-cakes. What can I say, it’s a favorite πŸ˜‰

I did some computer work while spying this really cute barista… I don’t know, should I get his number?? πŸ˜‰

A few hours after I had planted myself in a Starbucks chair, I had to run to an appointment with a friend / wedding planner for lunch. She suggested this place I had never been to before, & even though I got mixed greens with fruit on it (yes, Daniel Fast approved!), it was delicious. I’ll need to go back when I can eat other things πŸ˜›

Chatting with my friend was phenomenal. It was our first time really sitting down and having a conversation but we talked and talked as if we’d been friends for years (those are my favorite kinds of interactions πŸ™‚ ). Before we knew it, an hour & a half had flown by and we both needed to move on with our day.

Aaron got off of work and we jetted home for some time together. We watched a couple episodes of a show on Netflix and then felt motivated to do something we’d been procrastinating since December 26th….. taking down the Christmas tree.

We decided it would be fun to burn it in our fire-pit, so we (and by “we” I mean “Aaron”) hauled it out of the house & into the fire-pit to be perfect firewood.

I feel like no amount of words can properly describe the flames, so I decided to make a short film πŸ˜€

I LOVE bonfires!

Monday nights are Tribe Shaver nights so we hung out with the gang and planned some future tribe nights, talked about 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting, future plans for the next month, and a couple funny stories.

For “a day off,” it certainly didn’t feel like one. πŸ˜›
