Welp… sheepishly combining these two months this round because life just got busy and I wasn’t able to get them out when I was supposed to ;P
Let’s start with…
OCTOBER
To kickoff the month, Aaron and I divided and conquered a vendor event + my sister-in-law’s (Aaron’s sister) baby shower.
The girls and I met up with Amberlyn + Ryan to do a very Autumn thing – pumpkin patch!
We promoted a fun fundraiser this month – superhero capes. In addition to selling them at all our October vendor events, we also had a themed movie night and several friends joined us at our home and online.
We continued to have our forest school meetups every other week and it was so fun to focus on Fall themed topics.
I had a few vendor events, including Old Baker Farm for a weekend and we brought in over $1,000 for our adoption.
Most Saturdays I had a bible study at my home and I absolutely loved pouring over Psalms while eating dinner and chatting with these sweet ladies.
We had dentist appointments for the kids, and with some creative thinking, everyone got their teeth cleaned. I even had all 4 kids solo so my bigs were a huge help to me by keeping up with Spencer while I was in the chair. Thankfully our dentist is super fast!
We spent a lot of time outside, fully taking advantage of the beautiful Autumn weather.
The kids and I tried out a new schedule to complete our school work and it worked out so well for us! Emmaline even completed her Pre-K workbook.
I had the absolute honor of being invited to a Young Living friend’s adoption Zoom court hearing for her infant daughter. It was beautiful and emotional and I was so incredibly honored to have been invited and able to “go.”
And throughout the entire month, 2-3 nights a week we had Rylie’s softball season. It was so much fun to be a part of and she is so excited for Spring season.
October honestly felt very full. But it was full of so many good things.
NOVEMBER
Our month started off with forest school.
Next on the agenda was the states biggest vendor event that a sweet vendor let me be a weekend special at her booth.
Next on the docket was our Little House party with some homeschool friends.
Our oldest turned SIX and we had an incredibly family day celebrating her.
And of course we had a Star Wars birthday party later that week.
We played in piles of leaves.
Much to our surprise, we made it into the Top 10 of Fund the Nations adoption campaign. This understandably consumed our lives for one week but it was also so much fun and a literal once in a lifetime experience.
I had a Christmas themed photo session as a fundraiser and the setup was so sweet.
The day after the campaign ended, we welcomed Henry & Charlotte (Aaron’s sister’s children) into the tribe. Yay – we’re an aunt + uncle and the kids have cousins!
We took an hour out of our Saturday and shopped the vendors at a local event.
After the campaign was over, we got to meet up with 2 of the other families that were local to Birmingham for dinner. It was so fun to hear the behind-the-scenes of everyone’s adoption stories thus far and we are so excited to continue to grow in relationship with them.
We had a chill Thanksgiving (Aaron had to work) which was so nice honestly. But we got our family photos and had Tribe Thanksgiving on Sunday.
My mom and I got to see the first two episodes of The Chosen’s season 3. It was phenomenal!
We got into the Christmas spirit with decorating, watching movies, Christmas PJs and fun hats.
Of course, throughout the month we shopped groceries, read stories, went to gymnastics, watched Papa do some work, danced in the kitchen, shipped adoption ornaments, thrifted and more.
Spencer’s turned 18-months old.
We ended November with a trip to our favorite Christmas tradition, Christmas at the Falls.
