*Forest School or Nature School is best described as learning that happens while playing outside.
Our first class of the Spring ’23 semester was a huge success.
We started off learning about SEEDS and even the adults (myself included) learned some things. We talked about foods with seeds in them, looked at pictures that depicted a seed (and learned how to say some tricky words haha) then wrapped it up with a story.

From there, we ate snacks (cut up produce that has seeds) and did our stations.

Our first activity station was making a bird feeder with pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed.

And at our second station we germinated seeds. We let the kids pick which produce they wanted to germinate and then we sprayed a paper towel with some water, laid out the seeds, folded it properly and then placed it in the damp plastic bag.

I am so thankful for such a successful first session and I’m excited for the rest of the semester!
