nature day forest school – squirrels

Our theme this Winter Unit has been WINTER ANIMALS. We’ve learned about deerbearswolves and foxes. This week we studied squirrels.

It wasn’t raining while I was setting up but 10-minutes before class it became a downpour (like, sideways, heavy rain), so we moved inside the house.

Our snack was something we did last fall when we were studying acorns, and it was a such a big hit, I decided to do it again.

Our activity was easy enough to move indoors, we made squirrel feeders with pinecones, peanut butter and bird seed.

After we did everything that was scheduled, we played in the living room with our magnet tiles.

Next week is our last lesson of the unit, and I’m hoping it doesn’t rain 😉
