Our Fall semester kicked off today and sitting here after class just has me feeling so good!
Seriously, such a happy place for me.
Our theme for this Fall unit is Trees so we kicked it off with learning about trees that live year round (conifer trees). I felt really good about our lesson, highlighting some of the most noteworthy things our age-group needed to know.
Our snack today was a DIY trail mix (keeping it simple over here ;P)
After a few minutes of eating, we went exploring in the woods for some pinecones for us to dissect. We learned during our lesson that there are boy and girl pinecones so the kids were fascinated to discover their pinecones’ gender.
Our next activity was to make a nature paint brush. We pulled off some needles and tied them to a stick. The kids were so excited to go home and use them.
And inside our playhouse I had books ready for easy reading.
