nature day forest school – wildflowers

*Forest School or Nature School is best described as learning that happens while playing outside.

The first of this semester, we learned about Seeds, and last week our lesson was about Butterflies. This week we covered Wildflowers. It was a really beautiful morning.

We started our lesson with watching a brief 4minute video that covered a few facts about wildflowers, different kinds of wildflowers and what makes them different than weeds.

From there, we went out to “the forest” and started with snack where we made flower pots with chocolate pudding, bananas, pretzels, marshmallows and m&ms.

From there we went over to our activity table where we could paint with dandelions and make a bookmark with pressed flowers.

We also had a little farmers market where they could sell their flowers.

And of course we had our little outdoor book nook.

Such a happy class time.
