Much to my astonishment, I was accepted to be a vendor at Old Baker Farm’s vendor weekend (a well known pumpkin patch) where I got to sell our sourdough bread, bagels and cookies + our adoption merch and superhero capes.
On Saturday (10.22.22), all the vendors had to be fully set up by 8am and it took me 40min to get there, so I was up at 5am to load my car with my supplies and be there by 7am so I had an hour to get everything set up.
It was magical to watch the sunrise over the farm, with tractors rolling around and the smell of farmland.
I was all setup by 8am and enjoyed the remaining hour before opening meeting some of the other vendors, using the restroom, walking around, etc.
Saturday was busy busy busy. We found out later over 4,800 people came and there were only a few moments I didn’t have someone at my booth.
Some of my favorite moments from the day –
+loosing my βYβ for my sign so trying to be creative with two 1s
+the ladies who had matching tattoos and bought several shirts + stickers for themselves & Christmas gifts
+the father who told me he was adopted, bought a sticker & said heβd put it on his hard hat at work – he works with cranes & sits in them all day so cool!
+the few people who just handed me cash without buying anything
+the cookie I gifted to a bride who came with her bachelorette party sheβs getting married on 11.11.22
+the 17yr old who wore a βbirthday girlβ crown & gladly accepted the free cookie I gave her but then bought a hoodie too!
I got home just in time to hug my kiddos and read some stories before bedtime. After they went down, I made more sourdough chocolate chip cookies because I almost sold out that day.
On Sunday (10.23.22) I had to get up early and be back at the farm before 8am. I was tired from the day before, but also expectant that it was going to be another great day.
I won’t lie – it was a rough start. My phone charger somehow got unplugged from the wall so my phone’s battery was too low to function all day so I had to put it on airplane mode (so not a lot of photos π )
It was a good day though – I met some more cool people and had some great conversations. I found myself sitting in my chair more often though because I was really tired.
When the day came to an end and I totaled our profit, I was surprised to see we had broken $1,000.
I had no goals for this event, just a desire to see what God would do. So you can imagine my shock when I totaled our weekend profit
Thank you so much Old Baker Farm for allowing me to be a part of your family for the weekend!
*I got home, unloaded my stuff, ate dinner and went to bed at 7:50pm and didn’t wake up until 7am on Monday (10.24.22). I also took an hour nap that afternoon so apparently I was super worn out haha
