Like many others, Christmas is my favorite holiday. It was my favorite as a kid but even as an adult I find it brings me a different kind of joy. It has been so fun for our family to create our own traditions over the years and create timeless memories.
One of the things that I’m known for is my love for books—mainly children’s books. Weekly library visits, haul breakdowns, thrift finds, recommendations, quarterly “I’d buy these” blog posts, I’ve got you 😉
And you better believe that at Christmas time, I’m all about Christmas books.
A few years back, I created “Book Advent.” I wrapped all of our Christmas Books and Rylie (who was two at the time) open one every night leading up to Christmas. It was a beautiful pause in our evening to watch her practice opening gifts and watch the sheer joy on her face as she revealed a new book.
The following year I added some new books to the stack, which was great because now I had a 18-month old who wanted to participate as well.
By the third year, I had three little ladies who were eager to open a book every night, so we’ve revamped our strategy.
Last year I did The Book Advent Calendar and I loved it! I mini book behind every door – it was beautiful, magical and well worth every penny.
This year, my plan is to have all our Christmas themed books accessible so they can be enjoyed all season long.
In this post, I want to highlight some of my absolute favorite books. Many of these can be found at the thrift story, consignment, Amazon or the library.
