“Hi, my name is Paisley, & I have a natural tendency to do the crazy things.” -Paisley, probably
Guys…. I’m thankful for the laidback attitude I have in situations like this. Yes, I was speechless. Yes, when I finally found my words, we had a talk. But in the end, I just chuckled.
In the final days of December 2021, Paisley Alora – who never ceases to shock the world with her adventurous, mountain-moving, overwhelmingly curious about all things that probably should not be tested (likely viewed as slightly mischievous) attitude – grabbed a pair of scissors and cut her hair.
Now please understand, the girls have access to child-safe scissors in their art draws. We’ve had many conversations about how to use them safely, correctly and what are big “do not cut!” things – “hair” being at the top of the list.
But, to my horror, Paisley decided to take a chunk of the hair towards the front of her head and clip it off.
What’s also funny is it was not the first thing I noticed that clued me into what had happened when I wasn’t looking. What clued me in was there was a chunk of brown hair on the floor that I knew could not be a stray-hairball. Then I saw a similar clump tangled in her hair, and then I saw it….
A few days later, Aaron gave her a mini-haircut to help even it out and provide some sense of style to her decision. It actually looks pretty good now and can easily be mistaken as growing baby hairs.
I hope you guys can laugh with me but also be reminded that hair grows back and maybe give the dos and don’ts of scissors speech more frequently to the 2 year old ;P
