Rylie started martial arts in December 2020 after her 4 year old Avatar: The Last Airbender birthday party.
We felt like it would be of interest to her and after her first couple classes (where she timidly walked in and participated), she quickly dove in with excitement and excellence.
In true Rylie fashion, she became friends with everyone. Literally. Not only her instructors and classmates, but also the other little siblings who patiently watched their older brother or sister in class.
Over time, she has grown not only in height (which cracks me up to remember she used to be the smallest in the class and now she’s one of the biggest) but also in speed, skill and technique.
She got her photos professionally taken (& I splurged and paid for the cool background) which she still thinks is super cool.
Rylie also got to be in a parade with her martial arts friends which was probably one of her highlights of the Christmas season.
It is bittersweet to conclude our season at Tiger Rock. We have loved the community we’ve built there and Rylie has loved every moment of training she’s received.
