Rylie’s love for SpiderMan was born in 2019 when the Spiderverse movie came out. She even selected a SpiderMan themed party for her 3rd gathering. Her obsession over him never died and although she had another theme planned out for her 5th birthday party, she changed her mind in September and was not budging. Even though she had a 3rd birthday SpiderMan party, she wanted another one. We couldn’t say no, so here we went again 😉
We aren’t party favor parents… it’s just not something we invest in, but I had leftover spider-web lunch bags from our first spidey-party and little spider confetti. I lined the base of the bags with the spider confetti then filled it with a couple pieces of candy, a can of silly string and one SpiderMan sticker. They turned out perfectly.
side note: after the party I had a couple friends text pictures of a stray confetti piece saying things like “totally thought this was a real spider” hahahaha
When the day of the party came, we baked and decorated her cupcakes. My sister-in-law and brother took turns frosting and I am thrilled with how they turned out.
I snagged my mom/daughter pic right before her guests arrived because I knew she’d be busy hanging out with her people soon.
Lots of outdoor play happened in between eating and socializing.
We took a break from playing to let Rylie open her presents (apparently it’s something all 4-6 year olds LOVE witnessing!).
Unexpectedly, she had a very special guest knock on the door….
SPIDERMAN!!!!!
Pure shock and hesitated excitement filled our new-5-year-old.
She slowly warmed up and even showed him some of her martial arts moves.
SpiderMan high-fived and interacted with the other kids for a bit too. They were ecstatic!
The kids all took SpiderMan outside for a silly string fight before saying farewell to SpiderMan and coming back in to finish opening gifts.
We wrapped up the evening tired but oh so full.
Our girl had lots of friends come to celebrate her and she is obviously so loved.
