thankful thursday #22

I made it through my first full week back at work last week (5.21-25.18) and I actually held up okay. I got caught up, dealt with some drama (yay! **eye-roll**), and didn’t cry ๐Ÿ˜›

Here’s this week’s “Thankful Thursday” post ๐Ÿ™‚

Thankful Thursday #22

  • New Friends (Meeting Eli)

    2010D4B5-1B95-44A1-8790-48C95580B6F6

My sweet friend Andrea (you’ve seen her in “improvising” which was the first time I ever went to the McWane Center and decided it was something I wanted to get for Rylie when she turned 1. You also caught a glimpse of her inย  “shaver closet” when she so kindly helped me start our business) brought baby #2 into the world on May 24th so I stopped by after work the following day to visit. She was at the same hospital where I delivered both my girls so I knew my way around ๐Ÿ˜› I was so excited to catch up with my old friend and get to meet her son. We also decided that a play date is long overdue, so hopefully we can get that on the calendar shortly <3

  • Sinks That Work

    IMG_0302

I’ve decided I’m going to write a post for the end of the year about everything I went through / learned in my first year of being a homeowner – and this is definitely going on the list – unclogging our sink.

Not long after we moved in, we noticed that our sink filled with water whenever the faucet ran too long. After a few weeks, it also filled up whenever we ran the dishwasher. It was annoying, but livable. Well, early in my first week back from my maternity leave, we ran the dishwasher and the water never drained. Not good! We didn’t have the right tools so we had to wait until we could rent the correct equipment. Saturday finally came and we ran to the store to rent the 70-some-foot long snake so Aaron could unclog our drain. What he found was very unpleasant, but I am pleased to report that THE SINK IS FIXED and drains without a problem!!! I’ve ran the dishwasher twice since and no water has backed up into the sink. Praise God! Just like I said in “thankful thursday #1” when we didn’t have a washer/dryer (I don’t think I shared this, but we also didn’t have hot water for a few days… that was fun :P), I will never take for granted having a sink that drains again!

  • A 3-Day Weekend / Bed-Heads

After 6 weeks off of work, it helps knowing you have a 3-day weekend at the end of your first week back. I did not originally plan it that way, but when I looked at the calendar and saw that Memorial weekend was following my return, I sure didnโ€™t complain. And after our sink drama, we had a lot of catching up to do โ€“ so Saturday was full of fixing the sink, chores and errands. Sunday brought church and a movie with our friend Kendyl and Monday included folding laundry and hanging out with my father-in-law (my mother-in-law is out of town on a mission trip). I didnโ€™t get as much rest as I would have liked, but I walked into work feeling accomplished and that was a pretty good feeling too ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’d also like to add that I’m in love with Rylie’s bed-head <3 Her hair goes all over the place and cannot be tamed ๐Ÿ˜› It’s hilarious and so stinking cute!
