tribe shaver at turkey creek

SATURDAY (7.2.16) the tribe got up early (for a Saturday anyway) to head an hour away to a swimming-hole called Turkey Creek. We packed swim gear, chairs & food. By 9am, we had all eaten breakfast and had packed ourselves into the car.

Being that it was 4th of July weekend, we knew it was likely going to be busy. Thankfully though, we found a nice shady spot when we arrived and set up camp.

The water was so refreshing… almost too refreshing. It was pretty cold (by Alabama standards) which made getting in a challenge for those who are temperature sensitive such as myself. 😛 But once you had fully immersed yourself, it became comfortable.

It was a really hot day, and I was feeling like I was getting easily overheated (+ I was dehydrated), so I went back up to the camp and enjoyed some R&R in our oh so comfy chairs.

The girls came up and got a bite to eat while the boys did some more exploring. By the time they got back, they were exhausted but had big smiles on their faces!

Wet, sun-kissed & tired, we got a tribe picture.

By 4pm we decided it was a good time to head out, so we loaded up our stuff, put towels down on our seats, and headed out.

As we were driving home, I noticed the thermometer in the car and said, “oh. my. gosh!”

Yes, 100F! That’s hot in itself but we also have humidity!!!! *jaw-drop* I was just thankful to be back in the air conditioned car.

Overall, we had a good time. I’m glad we got to explore a new place and get some time in the water!
