FRIDAY was the night the tribe celebrated my father&sister-in-law’s January birthdays. We went to a tex-mex restaurant about 1/2 an hour away from our house. It was packed when we arrived, but they quickly found us a table and the appetizers were already there waiting for us!
Chips and salsa – you can never go wrong 😉
Our meals finally came and let me tell you I was obsessed with mine! It tasted SO good! I wish I could remember what it was called though…
We got home a couple hours later and Aaron & I finished off the evening by watching a basketball game. ‘Tis the season! 😛
SATURDAY I had a styled shoot (a session that is staged and often has a theme to it). This time, I connected with a friend of mine who is a planner to help coordinate the session, and my goodness, she did a spectacular job!
She brought all the props and I helped put them together. The setup was darling and perfect for our shoot.
Here’s a NEVER BEFORE SEEN photo from the session ::
A definite perk of being a photographer, sometimes you get to bring home the goodies you used at your shoot that day. This particular instance meant flowers and cupcakes 😉
That night Aaron & I had a date night. We went to our favorite restaurant (Newk’s) and ordered the exact same thing. Italian sandwich.
SUNDAY we woke up fairly early to go to church.
After church, I got ready for another session – my 1st At Home Lifestyle Shoot (you can read more about that on my post called “is this my big break?“)
Here is a NEVER BEFORE SEEN photo from that shoot ::
I loved the session & Roxanne + Rey were phenomenal. I think my favorite part was just how laid back the session was – which is exactly what I wanted.
Aaron and I wrapped up our weekend by going to a Bible Study. It was a potluck so we all brought a little something to share.
It was delicious! 😛
We’ve been attending that particular Bible Study for a few weeks and LOVE IT! We are surrounded with such a great group of people & we are so blessed to have them as friends!

So anyway, that was our weekend. Mostly work but we were so glad to get some “us” time in too.
