Looking back over the summer, I see 11 weeks of grit and faithfulness. I see amazing people who started as strangers but quickly became incredibly invested in our family. I see God’s goodness and provision. And it all started with a hesitant “yes.”
I was selling our sourdough bagels and bread online when I was asked by a couple at our church if I’d consider being a booth at our town’s first ever Farmer’s Market (which they were coordinating). I said I’d think about it but I really didn’t feel qualified. But they were persistent and I kept feeling little nudges from the Holy Spirit to do it. I ended up taking the dive – got my food handlers permit and got the necessary supplies.
Our first market was a huge success, and we completely sold out the first two weeks.

We started with just offering bread and bagels, but we expanded to cookies, cinnamon rolls and even tried our hand at donuts a couple times.
The following weeks were steady as people popped in and out from vacations and getting ready for school.

I can honestly say the people I met was my favorite part. I met some of the coolest, most genuine people. A few had adopted themselves and had a special interest in our journey. Several said I was now their bread lady for life and a few gave above and beyond to support us.

Just at our town’s Farmer’s Market, we raised $4,645 this summer.
That does not include all of the donations we received from people we met there.

So from the very bottom of my heart – THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported us this way. Thank you to my (now) friends who invited and encouraged me to come be a part of this opportunity. But most importantly, thank you to God who never ceases to amaze me.
