My girls are no stranger to farm life. My in-laws had a farm for a couple years and we worked the farm every day when we lived with them in 2019. My girls love farm life, so this was a theme I had already planned on doing for a while which made it an easy choice when I was picking out the weekly themes I’d do in April.
For our farm themed craft, I printed off a pig coloring page from Pinterest. There are lots of options, but this is the one I chose.
I got out the water color paints out and told the girls to muddy up their pig.
Our farm themed snack was classic farm foods like ham, apples and cheese but I also included a peep (leftover from Easter) sitting on a bed of pretzel sticks (like a nest).
We had a lot of farm themed books weaved into the week and a visit to Mimi + Papa’s house where they helped Mimi collect eggs from their chickens.
Children seem to love farm themes, so don’t feel like it has to be perfect to be enjoyable. Find food in your pantry that came from a farm, talk about it with your kids, print coloring pages, read books – don’t stress, just enjoy! 🙂
