nature day forest school – butterflies

*Forest School or Nature School is best described as learning that happens while playing outside.

Last week we learned about Seeds, and this week our lesson was about Butterflies. All the adults were shocked by how much we learned. After a brief but very informative lesson, the kiddos were allowed to roam the forest for our themed activities.

Snack was a butterfly made out of bananas, pretzels and chocolate chips.

Our main activity was nature butterfly wings where the kiddos had a cardboard butterfly and could stick flower petals, leaves, grass, twigs, etc. to their wings. Everyone’s turned out so unique and beautiful!

Of course we had a book nook as well that was full of fun butterfly and caterpillar stories.

I’m so thankful for another gorgeous day and a beautiful class session.
