Our Winter Semester of Forest School concluded yesterday (3.15.23) and what an amazing semester it was! We talked about Weather, Winter Animals, Hibernation, Trees, Shelter and New Growth / Spring.
Ironically, the temperature was freezing so everyone was bundled up while I briefly talked about Springtime.
Our main activity for the day was to plant our own flower seeds, which the kids seemed to love.
Snack was dirt and worms 😉 aka – chocolate pudding, gummy worms and graham crackers.
For my first run at facilitating a Forest School, I’d say it was a success. We’ll be launching Spring Semester sign-ups in a couple weeks and I’m excited for the lesson plan I’ve already put together. Looking forward to sharing those posts with you here on the blog in the near future.
