One of the most common phrases I hear out of moms is “it’s hard to make friends.” and it’s true. Whether you’re an adult, recently moved, a mom or transitioning seasons – it can be so hard to make friends!
I was in an awkward in-between season myself a few months ago in the “friends” department. Spencer was a newborn and I was preparing to homeschool our oldest. Meanwhile, our other friends were done having babies and preparing to send their 5 year old to school. Although we are still close, we are in different seasons.
Then one day in July, someone I trust and respect on Instagram shared about this app called Peanut.
It’s an app where you can type a bio, select some interests, share your city and the app will pull likeminded mamas in your area. You then have the option to “wave” at them or pass / “maybe later.”
You can message each other, join groups, etc.
I created an account just to see and oh my gosh, I’m so glad I did! I have met some of the most incredible ladies through this app. We’re all in similar seasons in some way and at least one of my kiddos is the same age as theirs. A couple of the moms I talk with almost every day.
Whether you’re wanting some mom-friends or you want to find a friend for your child – this is the app!
My biggest tip though is don’t just stay in messages – meet in person!!!! Obviously I encourage you to use caution and meetup somewhere public first (parks / playgrounds are perfect!) but I guarantee you’ll have better results than if you just message each other.
Guys, for real though – I will not stop talking about this app because it’s brought me some of the coolest and most special ladies in my life.
