21 days of prayer – week 1

I have so enjoyed having a flow to follow during my morning quiet time!

Like I’ve done since my first 21 Days of Prayer, here are the notes from the little mini-messages that are given before our focused prayer time.

I hope you can find something that you can apply to your life today.

Day 1 – Chris Hodges

This was a Sunday message, so you can watch the whole message anytime by clicking here. I’ll let you download the message notes, but there are couple side notes I made.

  • Give God thanks

Gratutude turns what I already have as enough.

  • Focus on the cross
  • Offer every party of my life to God

Whatever you are good at, the devil will try to pervert and use against you.

Pray over your whole body – head to toe.

  • Invite the work of the Holy Spirit in my life
  • Claim the promises in God’s word

Stop praying and read at least a couple verses. Ask God to apply what you’ve read to your life.

  • Worship His name

Declare God’s worth to me.

  • Intercede for others

Day 2 –  Hamp Green

It’s more about pursuit than perfection.

Day 3 – Mark Pettus

Daniel 10:11-13 – “He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.”

3 truths:

  1. God hears your prayers
  2. God answers your prayers
  3. There is always a space between our prayer and God’s answer

The devil tries to bring anxiety and doubt into the space, but we have to stay faithful and never doubt. If we doubt, the devil has won.

We become strong with God.

How to fill the space:

  1. Focus on cross
  2. Focus on God’s word (find a verse for every prayer request you have)
  3. Focus on God’s way (because He is a good God)

Prayer is the door and faith is the key.

Day 4 – Layne Schranz

Hebrews 7:7-8 (NLT) – “And without question, the person who has the power to give a blessing is greater than the one who is blessed. The priests who collect tithes are men who die, so Melchizedek is greater than they are, because we are told that he lives on.”

Day 5 – Chris Hodges

Your posture / attitude will determine what kind of experience you have.

The tendency  is to make prayer all about us, but it’s really all about God.

If we just focus on God, He will focus on  us.

John 3:30 – “He must become greater; I must become less.”

Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Ask God what’s on His prayer list.

Day 7 – Chris Hodges

Fall is a time for harvest.

Pray for those who need God. This is first to Him. It’s at the top of His prayer list.

  1. Ask the father to draw them to Jesus
  2. Bind the spirit that blinds them
  3. pray that they’d have a relationsip
  4. pray that believers cross their path
  5. pray that they’d have the “ah-ha” moment
