thankful thursday #1

Around Thanksgiving, I decided I wanted to cultivate an attitude of thankfulness throughout the year and not just when the holiday comes around. So, I thought it would be fun to write a “thankfulness” post every week dedicated 100% to what I’m thankful for / loving that week. I’m super excited about it and hope you’ll join me in counting our blessings and writing them down so we can look back on them and see all that we have to thank God for.

So, let’s get started… 😃

THANKFUL THURSDAY

  • Our New House

You guys are probably exhausted of this topic being brought up, but between the journey to purchasing our very first home being so full of God and how relaxing it has been to have our own space again, it’s been at the top of my thankful list since we moved in just before Christmas.

  • Washer/Dryers

This may seem random, but when we moved our house didn’t come with a washer/dryer so we needed to purchase one. Although we had accounted for this in our budget, we weren’t interested in buying a brand new one, so we were hunting Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, LetGo, etc. trying to find a washer/dryer that worked for our laundry room space. We wanted to make sure we got a good one, so we went a full week until we found a washer/dryer that fit what we needed. Guys, I will never take a washer/dryer for granted again! We had so much laundry, it was crazy. We renamed “our pile of laundry” to “our mountain of laundry.” I’ve lost count of how many loads we’ve done since we got our washer/dryer, but I can tell you it’s been  A LOT! Thankfully we’re caught up now and have a closet full of clean clothes again 😛

  • Soft blankets

Over the holidays, a friend of mine gave me a crazy soft blanket, and I have slept with it every night since. It brings me so much comfort and I love snuggling up under it.

  • A break from the routine

After 3 months of non-stop busy at work and closing on our first home, it was so nice to have days off over the holidays where I could just soak up time with my family. Naps, kisses anytime of the day, setting up our house – it was a much needed breath of fresh air. Now that I’m being forced to come out of the relaxed vibe of the holidays, I have to admit I’m still trying to get back into a routine. But it’s been so nice to come back with my tank full! <3
