usborne books & more convention 2020

One of the pros of Covid-19 is I was able to attend my company’s convention for an extremely discounted price, without having to leave my house or paying / needing childcare.

The day snuck up on me but we kicked off the convention with dinner + a movie for the kids so I could focus.

The first speaker spoke on how to create a community through social media. I found this class to be inspirational and convicting. I have such a heart for community and love the tools social media brings, but I have failed in some areas. I was thankful for the reminders, clear steps and plan to make this a huge priority moving forward.

The next morning, I printed off a variety of activities they provided for the kiddos and we had a lot of fun playing around with them.

Right before Day 2 started, we jumped on a Zoom call with my team.

The day was packed full of speakers and sessions that were full of great content, inspiration and motivation.

After a few hours off, it was Awards Night. I decided to take the excuse to dress up and invited the girls to participate. We had lots of fun picking out our dresses, wearing crowns and taking polaroid pictures.

UBAM Convention’s Awards Night is a good excuse to dress up and wear paper crowns 👑 oh, & read a book of course 😉

To be honest, I stayed dressed up for about 30-minutes, then I changed into sweats and a tee hahaha

Day 3 was jam-packed. Back-to-back sessions left me exhausted by the end of it.

After 22 sessions between all 3 days, they wrapped up the event with one last story time, sharing one of our new titles that will be released this month.

It was a lot of information, but oh so good. Not only for my business, but for life as well.

Afterwards, the girls and I sat in the playroom and read various books for a long while, and I just felt thankful. 3 year ago, we had less than a dozen books. Now, we have multiple shelves & baskets full of precious titles that we all love. I’m thankful to be a part of the UBAM team – to have the opportunity to promote reading and the value of family togetherness. And I’m thankful they found a way to hold convention that allowed me to attend 🙂

Maybe next year I’ll be at convention for realz 😀
