A “Thank You” | A Friend | A Styled Shoot + This Week’s Highlights

First of all, I have to tell you how much I’ve looked forward to writing this blog post, simply because I have had quite a few people from all different places in my life tell me they’ve been reading my blog 😀 I cannot even begin to describe how happy that makes me! Every time I’ve posted I’ve assumed I didn’t have many readers but I have been swept away this past week with the number of people who have told me that they read it & truly enjoy it. So THANK YOU for reading + telling me! It is a boost of encouragement and a motivator for me.

So, let’s dive in to what’s been going on this week —

This past week, we had our first Washington visitor 🙂 A family friend flew down last Thursday night and it was such a joy to have her here. Because Aaron & I were still working, we squeezed in random activities to try to give Rebekah the “southern experience.” My sister-in-law, Amberlyn, Rebekah & I even planned a “styled photo shoot.”

One was urban themed so we drove downtown and took some shots between the rain –

and the other was boho themed. We went to a park / hiking trail and walked around and found some amazing places to take the photos –

It was a great time and I really enjoyed having models willing to pose while I continue to grow in my photography skills.

Rebekah’s flight was Wednesday morning out of the Atlanta airport (she found a cheaper flight there then coming to our Birmingham airport), which meant we had to leave our house at 2am. Yes, you read that correctly. 2am! We got in the car, drove a couple hours to the airport, dropped Rebekah off, and then drove back.

We pulled back into our driveway a little before 8am and crawled right back into bed and did not wake up until 11:50am. We were exhausted.

All in all though, it was so fun having Rebekah here with us, and we’re so glad she was able to come!

As for the rest of life, it’s still the same. My schedule is packed full between my 3 jobs. Aaron has been working a lot too and so far our hours have been fairly similar (give or take a couple hours) which I am so thankful for. This last week we spent any free time we had with Rebekah, so we’re looking forward to getting some “us time” in.

Some highlights of the week ::

^ I found out that Katara is phenomenal in the car. Amberlyn & I went to PetSmart to get flee collars for the kittens and we decided to take them with us. MoMo was severely displeased with the moving vehicle but Katara just laid down on my lap the entire drive. On another note, I think this is one of my most liked photos on Instagram lol

PLUS, here is a video of how MoMo reacted once we put the flee collar on him –

^ My WA best friend texted me the other day and told me that she had found something for me and was mailing it. Yesterday I came home to see a letter on the counter for me, and I immediately opened it. Waiting for me inside was a gorgeous necklace of Washington State. I put it on with the other necklace I wear all the time and instantly fell in love with how they look together. I’m so thankful that Michaela & I are able to keep our friendship strong even while we’re 3,000 miles apart.

I think that’s pretty much it for this week. Again, thank you so much for reading my blog and sharing in my life. If you didn’t know, I also post every Monday (Beating the Mondaze) & Friday (Funny Friday) if you want to check those out sometime.

I hope you all have a great Thursday! 🙂
