Food:
Food has never been a problem with Emmaline, and that definitely hasn’t changed. Girl loves to eat!
Her current favorites are pretzels, fruit snacks, muffins, spaghetti, rice, beans and chicken.
Sleep:
After sleeping in a big bed on our trip to Texas, we decided it was time to upgrade Emmaline from her crib to a big-girl bed. She has loved it, stays in her bed & has only fallen out a couple times.
She goes down between 7-8pm (depending on if she got a nap that day) and wakes up between 7-9am the next morning.
Naps are hit-&-miss but she seems to go down better when Aaron puts her down vs. me. I guess he has the magic touch… but we put her down between 10-12pm. Really whenever she’s showing the signs.
Life:
Once Emmaline started walking, it didn’t take long for her to take off. Now we’re running and she loves walking on her tip-toes.
She really does love playing with Rylie, but not when Rylie takes or has something she wants or Emmaline feels like her personal space is being invaded. But they love to play pretend, push each other in their baby doll stroller, drive their cars side by side and play with their stuffed animals together.
She loves playing on her own too though and definitely values one-on-one time.
When it comes to her new baby sister, she really could take it or leave it. Her curiosity and interest grows every day, but a week into it, we’re still “oh look, a baby. I’ll give it a kiss and a pat. Okay, now feed me and let me play with my toys!” Hahahha
Me:
Emmaline has always been our challenge, but these last 6-months even more so. Once she started learning some words, that reduced a lot of frustration and we actually started making some progress. Discipline is in full effect but don’t get me wrong, the girl is all kinds of sweet and makes us laugh so hard! She definitely is our funny / jokester child.
I wouldn’t say that Sweet Emmaline’s main love language is physical touch, but it is definitely up there when she wants it to be. She loves holding hands and she would kiss my belly often when I was pregnant with Paisley ❤️
Aaron and I made a joke the other day that you can start any sentence and then add, “… and then Emmaline…” as if to imply that you can be going through life and then Emmaline comes and shakes it up in a very dynamic, dramatic and funny way. Emmaline has a unique gift of bringing so much passion into the room that you cannot miss it and it’s been fun (most of the time haha) to watch that bloom as she’s gotten older. And we know it’ll only continue to.
