Um, ah, eh, but, how?
Emmaline is 12 months old. Officially 1!!!!
I have all the feels! And apparently Emmaline does too 😛
Little Love was not a fan of me laying her down for this picture.
Before we go into our regular monthly update, can we just look back at all of her month updates?
She may still be squishy, but she definitely isn’t little anymore!
Likes:
- Eating anything and everything
- Milk
- Cheese
- Being carried around
- Crawling up stairs
- Being tickled
- Walking with your support
Dislikes:
- Being far from you
- Not being understood
- Rylie being too rough
- You trying to get her to walk without both of your hands holding onto her
Food:
You can pretty much give Emmaline anything and she will eat it (and love it!). She only has a handful of teeth up front so chewing takes time but she figured out a way to eat whatever you give her.
Milk is a morning routine and the rest of the day is followed with water.
Sleep:
Little Love goes to bed between 7:30 pm and 8 pm, sleeps all night long (praise!) and wakes up between 7 am and 8 am. She takes one nap a day usually around 11 am for a couple hours.
Life:
We’re still working on Emmaline walking, but she seems perfectly content with crawling, pulling up and holding our hands to support her as she takes steps. She still loves to be held though which is getting exhausting for preggers here. 😛
She loves to play with Rylie’s toys and the girls play really well together. Sometimes Rylie gets ambitious and treats Emmaline like she’s 2, but there are also times where Rylie thinks she’s Emmaline’s parent (a typical older sibling thought :P) so that’s been a fun learning opportunity for everyone haha. Emmaline, however, will definitely let you know when Rylie has crossed the line.
Me:
The last month before Emmaline turned 1 was so busy and so bittersweet at the same time. My time was literally consumed with moving so I’m struggling to even find pictures of our sweet girl for this post. But I love this little lady so much and I was so excited to celebrate her at her first birthday party!
I’ve done a lot of reflecting and it’s crazy to see the journey Emmaline has taken us on in just 1 short year (more on that in tomorrow’s post). But ultimately, it’s hard to remember life without her now. It definitely wasn’t as loud or passionate or unpredictable, but it also wasn’t as sweet, as cuddly or as entertaining. Emmaline has definitely added to our family, and we’re excited to see what more she brings us in the coming year.
